This year, we are inviting our 7th grade youth for a one day retreat here at St. Margaret Mary. The retreat will be led by young adults from the area who are trained by the diocese to create a meaningful and dynamic experience with ice-breakers, talks, small group discussion, prayer, skits and videos.
The retreat will be held on Friday, March 3rd from 9 am – 1 pm and will begin in the Upper Room. Lunch will be provided at 12:30 pm. We are asking for a retreat fee of $10 to cover our supplies and resources but it is not required if a family is not able to pay.
The theme of this retreat is “Plugged In”. This retreat will tie our i-everything needs to our faith by being connected to the power source. Like our devices, we need to be turned on or we don’t do much good. Sometimes it is tough to reach the power source, so who are the extension cords in their life, that plug you in to the power source.
This is an optional part of our program but we strongly encourage you to participate. Not only does a retreat give us time away from the stresses of our lives but it helps us to reflect on God’s call in our life and our relationship with Him. This is so crucial for young people who are challenged by their school environment, relationships, and society. We hope to make this an annual event and regular part of our program to support the spiritual growth of our young people.
Please register by returning the permission form and the retreat fee to the Youth Ministry Office by March 1st to register.
If you have any questions, please contact the Youth Ministry Office!
