Rainbows for All Children provides FREE support groups in communities all around the world for children grieving the loss of a family member as a result of death, separation/divorce, incarceration, deportation, deployment, life-threatening illness, or another life-altering, traumatic event. We have several sites around your area currently providing groups for children and teens (some even often parent/caregiver groups as well!). The trained and certified facilitators use an evidence-based curriculum that is proven to help lessen depression and anxiety, provide problem-solving and coping skills, improve communication, and offer anger and stress management tools. Rainbows participants have even shown improvement in academic performance and school attendance. What they mostly gain from the support groups, however, is understanding they are not alone in their grief, that loss is universal, and they benefit tremendously from the support of their peers. Please see the attached flyer for locations in your area and visit our website www.rainbows.org for more information.
