sUPPER WITH THE SAINTS
Join us at St. Margaret Mary Parish on Tuesday evenings in October for a shared meal and an interactive presentation on our Catholic Saints -- learn more about their lives, their mission, and how we can follow their example. We will even include contemporary Christian music videos that reflect their message. All are welcome to attend!
All sessions will take place in the Upper Room at St. Margaret Mary Parish (1450 Green Trails Drive, Naperville). We will supply dessert and beverage, and we invite you to bring a main/side dish to share “potluck style.” |
Oct 4 - Praying With A Broken HeartSaints: St. Francis & St. Monica
Dinner Menu: Italian Feast St. Francis and St. Monica are both amazing witnesses to the power of prayer, especially the prayers for those closest to us. Come hear their messages of prayer and how we need to be open to hear God speaking to us, especially in times of distress or struggle. |
Oct 11 - Silence is Golden, Action is AwesomeSaints: St. Joseph & St. Joan of Arc
Dinner Menu: Breakfast for Dinner St. Joseph and St. Joan of Arc were both saints of action rather than words. Just think about how St. Joseph never spoke a word in any of the Gospels. Join us as we honor St. Joseph, who is the patron saint for those looking for a spouse, in need of a father, and those experiencing terminal illness and family emergencies, and St. Joan of Arc, who shows us the importance of rising up and actually practicing the faith, rather than just talking about it. |
Oct 18 - Honor the Sacred Heart in All of UsSaint: St. Margaret Mary
Dinner Menu: Heart & Soul Food (Southern Cuisine) When St. Margaret Mary was a young woman, she experienced a series of vision, through which Jesus revealed his most sacred heart to her, and Jesus called her to share his heart with others. With October 16th being the feast day of St. Margaret Mary, join us as we honor her by exploring who she was, and how she can encourage us to reveal the heart of Jesus within ourselves and others. |
Oct 25 - Seeing God in the Face of OthersSaints: St. Vincent de Paul & St. Teresa of Calcutta (Mother Teresa)
Dinner Menu: Soup and Salad St. Vincent and St. Teresa of Calcutta call us to find faith, trust in God, love in our weakness, beauty in ourselves, and community among our neighbors. These messages ring true in contemporary Christian music, too! Join us as we learn how to serve our fellow brothers and sisters and how to grow deeper in our faith through music and prayer. |
