Chosen thinkific Digital Platform
Ascension Press has created a digital platform for Chosen to allow our young people and families to interact with the books and videos virtually and in your own homes. To meet the varying needs of our families, we are making this available for our program in a few different ways. The one important point in each of these situations is that preparing for the sacrament of confirmation is not about checking requirements off a list and watching videos but about preparing young people to be disciples of Jesus Christ and training them in the practice of the faith. This responsibility belongs to parents from their baptismal promises which is supported by these resources.
- If you are not able to join our in person program, you can register for independent study and prepare together as a family. You will be expected to follow the same two year schedule as our in person program along with the service, retreat and other expectations as outlined here.
- If you miss one of our in person sessions, you will make up your session using the digital platform. Instead of discussing the videos with your small group, you will need to watch and discuss them with a parent or other adult according to the expectations below. If possible, these sessions should be made prior to the next scheduled session.

Navigating Thinkific
- After you have logged in to the Chosen Thinkific platform, click the Resume Course link.
- On the left side, you will see your progress through the session you are in and the other possible sessions.
- Select the session that you need to complete and begin with the Opening Prayer.
- After you view each video segment, you will be quizzed on the content of the video before you can move on.
- You should be discussing each video segment after you have watched it.
- When you have finished the video segments, you will review the stories from the student workbook.
- There will be a few final discussion questions and a closing prayer.
- Each teen and parent should complete the Chosen Reflection Form below for each session that you are completing.
This form should be completed by parents and teens after they have watched and discussed each Chosen session together for a full hour. When we are not able to gather in person, we look forward to reading your substantive responses (at least 3 full sentences for long answer prompts) to these questions! While we don't require "correct" answers, we are looking to see that you have engaged with these videos, discussed them between parent and teens and the questions provided in the digital platform. Your reflections here serve as a way to reflect more deeply on the videos the same way you would in small group, so please consider them thoughtfully.
Thank you, and we look forward to reading your responses!
